Jagananna Thodu Scheme Objective
This scheme is only for the beneficiaries belonging to those States/Union Territories which have notified the rules and scheme under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Street Vending Regulation) Act 2014. The complete process of the scheme application is available on the official website of the scheme. Officials are interested in the launch party of the plan. The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to small businesses across the state of Andhra Pradesh. Many street vendors will cover this scheme and provide a loan of Rs 10,000 to help your business grow into something big.
Identification of beneficiaries and Thodu Scheme distribution
Although 9.05 lakh beneficiaries of Jagananna Thodo Yojana were identified in Phase 1, banks disbursed only Rs 535 million. Despite the interest offered by the government, Rs 535 crore was given to the beneficiaries of 5.35 lakh. Since these providers belong to the unorganized sector, banks do not give loans and borrow from private companies at high-interest rates to run their business and often go into debt.
To resolve this problem, the AP state government has decided to extend financial assistance to the remaining 3.7 lakh beneficiaries. The extension in financial assistance is done through Sthreenidhi Credit Cooperative federation and APCOB covering all the eligible beneficiaries by sanctioning loans in rural and urban areas. CM further added that Rs. 49.77 crores is being borne by the AP state government under the scheme towards paying interest. If beneficiaries repay the loan on time, the government will reimburse the interest directly to the beneficiary’s accounts. Moreover, such beneficiaries would become eligible to take the next loan.
